Obituary

Annie Zemira Jones was born November 6, 1932 in Jacksonville, Florida to Roberta Thomas Jones and Alphonso Jones, Sr. Annie was the oldest of 6 children.

Annie education was received in the public schools of Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1951 and received her PhD of Philosophy in Nursing from Edward Waters College.

Annie in 1948 met Horace Beals, Jr., to that union was born her first son, Paul Dewayne Beals, Sr. In 1951 she met and married John W. Brown, Sr., to this union 2 sons were born Elder John W. Brown, Jr. and Craig Brown.

Annie was a leader with exceptional nursing skills. She dedicated over 30 years of outstanding contributions to the Nursing Community of Jacksonville, Florida.

Annie answered the calling of her Heavenly Father on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 8:55 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta Thomas Jones and Alphonso Jones, Sr., son, Paul Dewayne Beals, Sr., brother, Dr. Alphonso G. Jones, Jr., Sgt. Ronald L. Jones, Sr., sister, Artelia L. Beckwork.

Annie Zemira leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Elder John W. Brown, Jr. and Craig Brown; sister, Shirley Porter; brother, Rev. James A. Jones, Sr. (Merrill); daughter-in-law, Cynthia Beals; sisters-in-law, Faye M. Jones and Janice Jones; grandchildren, Paul D. Beals, Jr., Kevin Beals, Sr, Artrina Beals, Carlos Beals, Sr., LaTasha Thompson, Latosha, Jon W. Brown, III, Efrem White, Sr. Craig Brown, Jr., (LaTasha), Joshua K. Brown, Crystal Beals, Herford Bean, Jr.; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
