WILSON - Anthony Dwayne Wilson, Sr., 63, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2020. Arrangement Entrusted to The Mortuary We Trust, HARRIS Mortuary, 2261 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204, (904) 598-9808.
Anthony Dwyane Wilson Sr. was born on August 6, 1957, in Jacksonville, Fl, to the late Rev. Richard L. Wilson Sr and Marion O. Little. He earned a living as a local/long haul contractor/driver and renovation specialist.
Anthony had an affinity and dedicated an enormous amount of his time and energy to the youth and elderly population of West Jacksonville. He routinely drove the West Friendship Baptist Church bus to transport the elderly "his bitties" and others who wanted to attend Sunday School and church service. Each morning before he reported to work, he would transport the youth to R.L. Wilson Youth Center. At the end of his work day; he would return, to transport them back home. Anthony was naturally gifted to work with the youth and elderly; and he thrived in these relationships. He eventually became a certified childcare provider and spent many years at R.L. Wilson Youth Center. He was "son" to the elderly and "Uncle Tony" to the youth.
Anthony was an avid fan of motorcycle building, racing and riding, NASCAR, Monster Trucks, the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the late 70's and into the early 80's one of the most meaningful of these passions emerged when he pioneered the development of "Bold City Racing Team" and boy were they "bold"! This was a massive undertaking; but he saw it come to life in collaborative efforts with his brother; Maurice Wilson (Deac), Roderick Culp (Sput), Joseph Hinton (Dickie), Keith Blue (Blue) and Ernest Gibson (Boss).
Anthony transitioned from this world to a restful peace on October 25th, 2020. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Evelyn Nelson Wilson, father Rev. Richard L. Wilson Sr., and brothers Bruce and Roderick Wilson.
Anthony leaves to cherish his precious memory: son Anthony Dwayne Wilson Jr.: grand-daughter Chemiyah Antone' Wilson, mother Marion O. Little; brothers Richard L (Rochelle), Lawrence B., Maurice A. (Laurece) and Michael R. Wilson: Sisters Kathleen W. Handy, April L. Wilson and Dawn W. Cole (Timothy), aunties, uncles and a "WHOLE TRIBE" of nieces and nephews, cousins, buddies and friends.
