Obituary
Billy Lester aka "Larry" was born August 2, 1946 to the late Olie B. Lester and the late Nancy Eady Lester in Jacksonville, Florida.
Billy attended the local schools of Jacksonville, Florida.
Billy, after becoming a man of age, became a long shoreman and later joined the Merchant Marines as a merchant seaman. He traveled around the world three times.
Billy answered God's calling on Sunday, October 21, 2018 peacefully at Acosta Rue Hospice. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Olie Lester, siblings, Alfred James. Sylvester Lester, Rosa Lee Conners, Estella Henderson, and Nancy Lester.
Billy memories will be cherished by his devoted wife of 41 years, Janice Ford Lester; son, Romanie D. Lester; step son, Michael D. Ford; daughter, Kimberly Lester and son, Billy Cummings; siblings, John Charles Lester of Albany, NY, Frank Lester of Miami, FL, George Lester of Jacksonville, FL and Rev. Lillie Hallmoore of Daytona Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Sarah Harper; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
