His Life … His Legacy

Today, we celebrate the life of one so dear and precious to our hearts, Mr. Curtis Thomas Sr., also known as "Governor to some and Panky Lee to others".

Curtis was born in Jacksonville, FL, on March 23, 1950, to Robert Hutchinson Jr. and Mae Etta Thomas.

Curtis attended the local public schools in Duval County.

Curtis was employed with the City of Jacksonville and NAS Jax.

Curtis had a love for fishing, singing, dancing and cooking.  He was the life of every party, one of his mottos was "The Party Starts Here".

Curtis was preceded in death by his nurturing parents, grand-parents, Carl and Elizabeth Hutchinson, and Aunt Mae France Brown.

Curtis memories will be cherished by a loving family: sons, Curtis Thomas Jr., and Tyra Williams (Kedra); daughters Sabrina Brown and Falascia Simmons; siblings, Larry Thomas (Michelle) and Sandra Jenkins; grandchildren Tia'Oshia Mitchell, Tamerra Simmons, Kennedi Williams, Sean Williams, Destinee Mackey, Joseph Brown, Chantell Thomas, Naomi Thomas and Noah Thomas; special cousins, Geraldine Merriweather (Albert) and Marvin Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.

.A precious one from us is gone; A voice we love is still.
