He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Free Will Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Henry J. Rodmand, Pastor. He knew God's word and sought out the truth of God's knowledge.

Donte֬ris was an enduring young man, being his mother's right hand, he took on the responsibility of "Big Brother" at an early age within caring for his younger siblings, while his mother worked and continued her nursing education, keeping the family strong. You could say that he was the "man of the house." Don had an infectious smile. He was a man of multiple talents including being a up and coming musician. A diligent worker, he was always ready and willing to lend a hand, even helped with installing an engine in an old truck with Jamerson. He was open-minded and inquisitive; he sought the opportunity to gain experience of new things. He encouraged his siblings and friends and always pushed them not to be afraid to do greater things.
