Obituary

JOHNSON - Harold Wayne, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026. Arrangement entrusted to HARRIS MORTUARY, 2261 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32204. (904) 598-9808

The earthly journey of Harold Wayne Johnson began on May 9, 1952, when he was born to the late Willie B. Johnson, Sr. and Rose Mae Hampton Johnson.

Wayne received his education through the Duval County Public Schools system and was a proud graduate of Eugene J. Butler Jr./Sr. High School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. W. Carter. Later in life, he became a member of the Nation of Islam, where he faithfully served as a Study Group Coordinator.

Wayne first married Rosetta Johnson, and from that union came two children, Rozina and Faheem Johnson. In later years, Wayne rekindled a courtship with Annette Johnson, which blossomed into a beautiful union of 31 years of marriage, built on love, faithfulness, and devotion.

On Monday, June 1, 2026, our beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend, Harold Wayne Johnson, departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Johnson, Sr. and Rose Mae Hampton Johnson; his brother, Willie B. Johnson, Jr.; and his sister, Deborah Ziegler.

Wayne will be lovingly remembered for the joy he brought to those around him. His love for singing and dancing could brighten any room and bring smiles to the faces of those in his presence. His warm spirit, wisdom, and genuine kindness touched the lives of many. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Wayne leaves to cherish his precious memories his devoted wife, Annette Johnson; his loving children, Rozina Johnson and Faheem Johnson; his bonus children, Quentin Matthews (Miki) and Cenora Guillen (John); nieces, Robin Hansberry, Lisa Harris, and Tameika Mays; nephews, Karriem Ziegler (Karen), Jamail Ziegler, and Rahim Marcus; cousins, John Cason, Lamar Cason, and Inell Cason; his dear friend, Bro. William "Bill" Muhammed; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever treasure his memory and dearly miss him.
