Obituary
John Cleo Williams, Jr. was born on December 2, 1952 to John C. Williams, Sr. and Lillian Leona Rice. John, along with his maternal siblings, were raised and nurtured by his uncle and aunt, Henry and Annie Bell Rice.
John attended Duval County Public Schools and graduated from William M. Raines High School.
John worked at National Shirt Shop in downtown Jacksonville and was always known to be "sharply dressed". In later years, he worked his own Lawn Care & Maintenance Service until his physical body was not able to.
John had an infectious smile and was always the life of the party. He was a cool dude, very friendly and kind. John had a way of remembering things and never wrote them down. He expressed his love and care by calling or texting loved ones on birthdays, special occasions and holidays.
John received and gave his life to Christ. He joined Pentecostal Church of God in Christ United, under the leadership of Pastor Dennis Goodman. He later, joined Elevation Worship Center, Inc., under the leadership of Pastor Harry M. Ford, Sr.
John lived for many years battling heart conditions but would only let you know if the pain became unbearable. As his health began to weaken and decline, he reflected on life's ups and downs, recited scriptures and preached to those that would visit him.
John accepted God's calling on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 9:44 a.m. and gained his wings, making Heaven his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Rice and John Williams Sr., siblings, Cassandra Sherman, Earnestine Scott and Nathaniel Williams, grandfather, Ivory Rice, aunts & uncles, Annie Bell Rice, Henry Rice, Carrie Scott, Julia Carter, Mary (Betty) Brown, Shirley Seay, Wallace Mazon, Catherine Mazon and Charles Rice, and nephew, Edward Peterson.
