Obituary

Louise Frances Jackson was born on September 8, 1913 in Scotch Plains, New Jersey to Helen Amelia Grey of Maryland and Horace Welch of Pennsylvania.

Louise lived in Atlantic City in her early childhood and moved to Plainfield, NJ where she attended Whittier Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Maxson Junior High School and Plainfield High School.

Louise has been a devoted member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Plainfield, NJ for over 80 years. Louise displayed a quiet strength and was a caregiver to many while serving in various roles (e.g. Alter Guild and ECW) at the church. As a result of her selflessness and many acts of kindness performed at the church, St. Marks's initiated a "St. Mark's Day" at which time they awarded and honored her with the "The Louise F. Jackson Spirit of St Marks Award". This tradition has continued to honor church members who go above and beyond furthering the Christian experience.

Louise worked in the Domestic Field until retirement in 1995.

Louise moved to Jacksonville, Florida in July 2007 with her son, Robert (Jack), and daughter-in-law, Jacqueline. She joined St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church where she was embraced with love and respected as an elder member of the church.

Louise married Benjamin Charles Jackson of Williamsburg, Virginia in 1939 and had five children whom were all raised in Plainfield.

Louise transitioned this life on August 8, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; sons, Robert Lewis (Jack) and Philip Lawrence Jackson; daughters, Aven Synade Jackson and Janet Amelia Cuff and grandson, Randolph Jackson.

Louise is survived by her precious and devoted family: daughter, Leslie Diane Jackson; devoted daughter-in-law and caregiver, Jacqueline Diane Jackson; grandchildren, Robert Jackson, Jr., Rodney Jackson (Danielle), Andrea Spruell, Courtney Johnson, Damon Jackson (Christina), Jamal Jackson (Susan), Philip Jackson (Brianna) and Simone Palmer (Cary), 19 great grands, 4 great-great grands and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
