Ms. Lynetta Melissa Dawson was born Wednesday, February 19, 1964 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Leonard "Butch" Dawson and Brenda Fields. Lynette was raised by her grandparents, Lizzie Williams and the late James Williams.

Lynette was a proud graduate of Williams M. Raines, class of 1981.

Lynette retired from Deerwood Country Club where she was a dedicated Sous Chef.

Lynette accepted Christ at an early age. She was a dedicated and faithful member of, Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church, until her death.

Lynette was a very special daughter, mother, GiGi, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. All who knew Lynette know that she was kind hearted and did many things for people that will not be forgotten. She was soft spoken with a sweet spirit, a great sense of humor and loved a good shopping trip. She took much joy in her grandchildren who were the light of her life. .
Lynette leaves to celebrate her life and homegoing: daughters, Tamara White, Ashton Dawson and Sydney Dawson; biological mother, Brenda Fields; mother and grandmother who raised her, Lizzie Williams; grandchildren, Darius Sumner, Sa'Jada Steney, Jadai Davis, Johnnie Steney, Jr., Samara Steney, and Melissa Davis; sisters, Stacie Fields, and Michelle Boykins; special uncles, Pastor James Dawson (Carolyn) and Deacon Robert L. Dawson (Jeanette); special godchildren, Rasheema Wright, Tiffany Garnes, and D'Angelo Bryant; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
