Otis Dunn McGhee, known as "O.D.", was born February 24, 1940 in Calion, Arkansas, to Emanuel and Arnes McGhee.
O. D. accepted the Lord at an early age, joining Willow Grove Baptist Church.
He graduated from Smith High School in Norphlet, Arkansas.
O. D. loved his country and he wanted to see the world, so he joined the Navy and made it his career. He spent 33 years in the United States Navy.
He made Jacksonville, Florida his home after meeting the love of his life, Odessa Brown McGhee (45 years) who proceeded him in death, three years ago.
Retired Warrant Officer W-4 Otis Dunn (O. D.) McGhee transitioned from this life Friday, December 8, 2017.
O. D. leaves two sons by an earlier marriage, Otis Jr. of Detroit, Michigan, and Andy McGhee of Calion, Arkansas. He also leaves a sister, Allie Mae Belin of Hampton, Arkansas, and two brothers, M. C. McGhee (Erma) of Toledo, Ohio, and Emanuel McGhee(Judy) of Springfield, Missouri. O. D. leaves three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.
O. D. will be buried at the Veteran Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida.
